Role: Force trying to stop the terrorists

I am part of the German police force that has participated in the action of capturing the terrorists. First and foremost, I have to admit that the operation was a failure. I was the assistant in-charge of commanding and deploying the German police force in capturing the terrorists. However, my views were often ignored by my superior, who took reckless actions in this operation that resulted in the death of the hostages and the failed rescue operation. Firstly, I suggested to my team that we should carry out “Operation Sunshine”, which is to storm the apartment infiltrated by the terrorists. I also told them that this operation should be carried out in secret so that we will have the element of surprise and the terrorists may be flustered. I should be glad to say that my plan was accepted by my superior, but I could not say that as he only followed part of the plan. He announced the plan on television, in hope that he could warn the German public of the oncoming operation and allow them to stay out of the way. As a result, the terrorists discovered our plans on television, and we were obviously unable to take them down. When I suggested later that we ambush the terrorists when they head for the airport, my superior again revealed the plans and for a second time, we have failed to capture the terrorists.

To be fair to the police force, they have put in their best efforts and show exceeding courage. However, the decisions made by the higher ups were full of loopholes. I can only say that I am very sorry for the deaths of the hostages and one of our men. I most certainly will not allow this to happen again.

The whole massacre was a chaos. The terrorist were too eager to achieve their objectives of this whole attack. Moreover, our police force was also careless and allowed for the media to play a part in this massacre. If it wasn’t for the media, things would have carried out more smoothly with lesser hostages killed. However, our police force managed to negotiate the best possible solution in saving the lives of the hostages. We managed to drag the release of the hostages to 5pm while keeping the hostages calm. Representing the whole police force, we felt that we made the right decision in not releasing the prisoners if not the whole situation would have been more chaotic with hooligans running around the streets of Israeli. We regretted making the decision to have ordered the armored car and should have proceeded to have negotiations with the terrorist before assassinating them.

Our master told us to attack, and that if we accomplished our mission, even if we die, we would become heroes. Of course, this is all for jihad. We believe that Israel must be eliminated, and Palestine should occupy Israel. As devoted Muslims, I am dedicated to the cause of Islam and the death of its enemies. The will of Allah is on our side! All of you infidels will witness the glory of the Islamic revolution. Glory be to Allah and our fallen brothers who gloriously sacrificed themselves for this holy war. We got our ak 47s from our friend, Mohammed. When we attacked, it was good to know about the plans of the Germans from television. We were ahead in the mind games. When we alighted from the helicopter, we knew that something was wrong, and attacked back. We killed the athletes before we got captured. The Germans are really stupid. I was released, as my comrades hijacked a plane. It was a tremendous success!

I am one of the Palestinian terrorists who took part in the Munich Massacre. Although I have been captured and sent to jail for eternity, I do not regret my choice to complete the mission. The Israeli infidels have taken the lives of many of our compatriots, and it is only right for us to return the favour. We have been successful in our mission, taking the lives of numerous Israelis and broadcasting our cause to the rest of the world. The German forces are simply incompetent as can be seen by their broadcasting of their assault plans, thinking that we would not see it. The fools! Operation Wrath of God was started to take revenge against us perpetrators of the Black September massacre, and it saddens me to say that many of our brothers died in the crossfire. They died for a noble cause, and they will die knowing that they have not died in vain. We will continue spreading the message of Palestinian might around the world through more attacks and assaults on Israel. Stay tuned for more!

I am one of those involved in the Munich Massacre. We went directly to what they came here for - the Israeli contingent. At approximately 4:30am, we infiltrated the buildings, rounding up the occupants in Apartment 1 and Apartment 3. Several of the Israelis attempted to retaliate and two died fighting. Some managed to escape and nine were taken hostage. By 5:10, the police were alerted and news flashed broadcasted it to the world. We dropped our demands; wanting 234 prisoners to be released from Israeli prisons and 2 from German prisons by 9am. Negotiators managed to negotiate and extend it so much till 5pm, hoping we would back down. However, things did not turn out as expected and Israel refused the release of the prisoners. A confrontation became inevitable. At 5pm, we realised that it was impossible for our demands to be met. They requested planes to fly the hostages, along with them, to Cairo, hoping that changing location would enable our demands to be met. German officials agreed but realised that we cannot be allowed to leave Germany. Desperate to end the whole debacle, Operation Sunshine was organized to storm the apartment building. However, they managed to allow us to discover the plan via television. The Germans planned another attack, to ambush us as we headed to the airport. Once more, our plans were revealed. At 10:30pm, us and the hostages were transported to the Fürstenfeldbruck airport by helicopter. The Germans decided that the confrontation was going to be there and then at the airport, laying snipers waiting to go for the kill. Upon landing, we knew we had fallen for a trap. The

snipers opened fire but we retaliated. Two terrorists and one policeman was killed. A stalemate occurred. The Germans requested armored cars, waiting a good hour for them to arrive. When the cars finally arrived, we knew it was over. One of us jumped into a helicopter, killing the four hostages inside and threw in a grenade for good measure. Another jumped into the other helicopter, killing the remaining hostages. The snipers and armored cars killed three of us in this second confrontation. Another three of us were taken into custody. Less than two months after the whole incident, we were released as two Black September members hijacked a plane, threatening to blow it up unless we were released.
